In Sumy region, materials have been sent to court in the case of a doctor and a nurse accused of issuing fictitious medical documents for men of draft age. The regional prosecutor's office reported this.
According to the investigation, since January 2024, the doctor was a member of the military medical commission and, while performing his official duties, set up a scheme to establish false diagnoses. He involved a nurse in the deal. According to the law enforcement officers, the defendants agreed to organize hospitalization of the conscript in a psychiatric institution for ₴40,000 with the subsequent execution of fake official documents that would allegedly allow him to avoid conscription.
The doctor's actions are qualified under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining unlawful benefit by an official). The nurse is responsible for aiding and abetting this crime — under Part 5 of Article 27 in conjunction with Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigative and procedural actions are ongoing in the proceedings; the materials are being transferred to court, where all the circumstances and the degree of involvement of each of the defendants must be established. If the guilt is proven in court, they face criminal liability in accordance with the provisions of the incriminating articles.
