Sun, sand and sea: what to do to prevent your smartphone from breaking on vacation

It's hard to imagine yourself without your smartphone during summer vacation, but it's also the time when it's most at risk of breaking. Sun, water, and sand can be your gadget's real enemies, warns Express.

The main rule is not to leave your phone in direct sunlight. Overheating can lead not only to malfunctions, but also to a complete failure of the device. It is best to keep your smartphone in the shade, and also turn on airplane mode or power saving to reduce the load on the battery.

To protect your phone from moisture, experts advise purchasing a waterproof case in advance. This will allow you to use it even by the pool or on the beach without any unnecessary risks.

Sand easily penetrates into hard-to-reach parts of the case and damages the connectors. If this happens, it should only be removed with a soft brush. The use of sharp objects is strictly prohibited - you can damage the internal elements.

Experts advise: if possible, leave your phone in the hotel safe instead of taking it to the beach. At least, don't bury it under a towel: this "method" is well known to thieves and also exposes the device to contact with sand.

Additionally, you should take care of gadget insurance and activate the "Find iPhone" or "Find Device" functions. In case of loss or theft, this will help you block the phone or delete data from it.
