Today, Orthodox Christians celebrate the most church holiday of the year - Easter, or the Resurrection of Christ. It is a day of spiritual victory, a symbol of hope and renewal. Christians around the world remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ as proof of victory over death and sin, as well as the fulfillment of God's promise for the salvation of mankind.
The name "Easter" has deep roots and comes from the Jewish feast, which symbolized a way out of Egyptian slavery. It was during the celebration of Passover that Jesus Christ made a secret dinner with his disciples before execution. Since then, Easter has gained new content - as a day of resurrection and eternal hope.
