Strong wind in Kyiv: falling trees and damage to roofs, patrol police issued recommendations

Today in Kyiv, the sharp deterioration of weather conditions led to serious consequences: wind gusts of up to 20 m/s caused trees to fall and damage to roofs in various areas of the capital. The patrol police of Kyiv responded quickly, providing recommendations to residents about safety during bad weather.

"According to the data of the Ukrhydrometeorological center, wind gusts will reach up to 20 m/s today in Kyiv during the day," patrol officers reported on social networks.

Photos and videos are published on the network, showing how strong winds tear off roofs and fell trees in Kyiv.

In particular, according to the Kyiv patrol police, traffic was blocked due to the fall of a tree on the roadway on Simiya Idzykovskikh Street. Appropriate services are available on site.

Residents of the city were urged during worsening weather conditions:

  • do not walk under sprawling trees, near construction sites;
  • stay as far as possible from billboards and power lines, as gusts of wind can damage them;
  • do not leave vehicles under trees, billboards, electricity poles;
  • tightly close windows, doors, attics in houses;
  • remove unsecured items from balconies and loggias that may fall onto the street.
