According to sources in the President's Office, the General Staff protested against the idea of disbanding the territorial procurement centers (TCC) and sending their employees to the front. They claim that TCCs play an extremely important role in the mobilization process, and their elimination can seriously complicate the staffing of the army, and therefore negatively affect the country's defense capabilities.
According to representatives of the General Staff, TCCs perform critical functions in the organization of the mobilization process, including the collection and selection of conscripts, their training and distribution to military units. Given the urgency of wartime mobilization, any changes that could disrupt the normal functioning of this system could lead to delays and manning problems.
At the same time, sources report that the commander of the ground forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, made a proposal to lower the age threshold for mobilization to 20 years. In his opinion, this will make it possible to replenish reserves and compensate for losses in the army. He is convinced that such an initiative will help increase the number of troops and ensure effective training of young soldiers for service.
