Due to the massive Russian missile attack on November 17, a large part of Odesa and Odesa district was left without electricity, water and heating. In addition, the work of city electric transport and schools has been stopped. Specialists of DTEK Odesa power grids are still working to restore power supply to critical infrastructure facilities to provide residents with water and heat. Problems with electricity also affected the operation of transport: due to power outages on November 18, the city's electric transport did not work.
Odesa City Hall reported that due to the lack of electricity supply, large buses provided by international partners will operate instead of electric trolleybuses on two city routes. They will serve passengers from the "sleeping" districts - Kyivskyi and Peresypskyi. Each bus will make two return flights in the morning and in the evening, with an interval of 45 minutes.
According to the decision of the regional commission of TEB and NS, schools and kindergartens in Odesa will be closed for two days. At the same time, the city council noted that regular groups will work for children whose parents cannot leave them at home.
Water supply is gradually being restored in Odesa. Some facilities run on generators, as well as deployed "points of invincibility" to provide residents with the necessary resources. Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa OVA, reported that heating has been partially restored, while hospitals and critical infrastructure are provided with electricity from alternative sources.
We will remind that the November 17 missile strike caused massive damage to the energy infrastructure of Odessa. Two energy workers were killed in the shelling, and a 17-year-old boy was injured. As a result of the attack, fires also broke out in three private houses, and four more houses were seriously destroyed.
