In the combat zone in the Zaporizhia direction, a large-scale scheme for dismantling high-voltage power lines for further processing of non-ferrous metal for the benefit of the private company “Syaivomet” was revealed.
According to the international detective agency Absolution, the actual control over the company is exercised by former tax officer Roman Afonov and businessman Felix Kusaev, although formally the co-owner of the company is Afonov's wife. The company's facilities are located in Zaporizhzhia, and its official registration is in Boryspil, which, according to the investigation, allows the company to operate under the protection of local officials.
During June-July 2025, more than 200 tons of copper dismantled from a 750 kV power line supplying electricity from the Zaporizhzhia NPP were brought to the territory of “Syaivomet”. The police and the BEB recorded these facts, but the investigation was blocked at some stages due to the involvement of the regional SBU and other officials.
The director of Syaivomet LLC, Serhiy Kabantsov, has already been notified of suspicion of tax evasion and participation in a criminal scheme. The total amount of underpayments to the budget of Ukraine is UAH 14.2 million.
The investigation is ongoing under the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office, and checks are ongoing regarding all those involved and the structures involved.
