The court refused to grant the prosecutor's office's request to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the head of the Kyiv City State Administration's staff, Dmytro Zagumenny. The court also did not support the demand to remove him from his position. The Kyiv City State Administration reported this.
Zagumenny himself stated after the meeting that the decision was logical, because the accusations against him were not supported by evidence:
«I am accused of an alleged conspiracy - at an unspecified time, in an unspecified place, and with unspecified individuals. No arguments or evidence were provided, everything was just assumptions and conjectures.».
According to him, the case has a political overtone and is aimed at blocking the work of the mayor of Kyiv, the Kyiv City Council, and its executive body.
On August 14, law enforcement officers reported suspicions to Dmytro Zagumenny and the former head of the municipal enterprise "ATP Kyiv City State Administration." They are accused of repairing a private building worth almost 1.3 million hryvnias using city budget funds.
Zagumenny has headed the Kyiv City State Administration since the fall of 2018. The case regarding his activities is currently being investigated by law enforcement agencies, but he continues to perform his duties in office.
