On October 30, Ukraine celebrates several important dates, both religious and secular. This is the day of remembrance of the holy martyrs Zinovy and Zinovia, as well as professional holidays for drug enforcement officers, trainers, and orthopedic nurses. In addition, this day is celebrated as International Sugar Addiction Awareness Day.
According to the new church calendar, on this day believers honor the holy martyrs Zenobia and his sister Zenobia, who suffered for their faith during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. Zenobia, known for his piety and mercy, became bishop of Aegea, helping the sick and the destitute. His sister Zenobia imitated her brother in faith and good deeds. Both accepted martyrdom, remaining steadfast in their faith.
The people called this day Zinovy Icebreaker. It was believed that if the ice on the bodies of water was thin, real frosts would not come soon.
It is not recommended to quarrel or sort things out, to borrow money or refuse help - this was considered a bad omen.
 According to folk observations:
 • a warm day - to a mild winter;
 • a strong wind - to blizzards in December;
 • thick frost - to a snowy winter;
 • fog - to a thaw.
On October 30, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Workers of Units Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking — a holiday of courageous people who oppose drug crime and risk their lives every day for the safety of society.
Also celebrated on this day is Coach's Day - an unofficial but important professional holiday that celebrates those who educate athletes, build character, and teach them how to win.
Another date is International Day of Orthopedic Nurses and Nurses, who help patients recover from injuries and surgeries.
The holiday aims to raise awareness about the dangers of excessive sugar consumption, which can cause real addiction and serious health problems. Doctors remind: reducing sweets in the diet helps strengthen the immune system, improve metabolism and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
