The head of a municipal enterprise in Sumy region is accused of embezzling budget funds intended for the repair of heating boilers at the regional clinical hospital. According to the prosecutor's office, the official illegally appropriated more than 414 thousand hryvnias.
As reported by the Sumy Region Prosecutor's Office, the employee signed official documents with knowingly false data on the cost and scope of work performed. The reports indicated construction operations that were not provided for in the design and estimate documentation and were not actually performed.
After the work was completed in July 2023, the head of the CP drew up acts containing forged information, thereby misappropriating part of the funds. He then carried out a number of financial transactions to legalize the illegally obtained money.
The indictment has now been submitted to the court. If the official is proven guilty, he faces up to 8 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
