The doctor named three habits that increase the risk of developing cancer

Cancer is often diagnosed accidentally - during an ultrasound or tests when a person consults a doctor with another problem. Although heredity plays a role, modern research shows that lifestyle affects the risk of cancer no less.

As the Mirror writes, citing Professor Franklin Joseph, tobacco has long been considered the main ally of cancer. However, now doctors are increasingly pointing to obesity as a factor that triggers the development of malignant diseases.

Three habits that increase the risk of cancer

  • Sugary sodas: Excessive sugar consumption contributes to weight gain, insulin resistance, and inflammation, which increases the risk of colon and pancreatic cancer.

  • Alcohol and late dinners. Alcohol is a carcinogen, and even small doses increase the risk of breast, liver, and esophageal cancer. In addition, late eating disrupts natural circadian rhythms, leading to metabolic disorders and obesity.

  • A sedentary lifestyle. Even one intense workout can increase the level of myokines in the blood - proteins that inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Regular physical activity can reduce the risk of developing cancer by almost a third.

Experts emphasize that daily habits play a crucial role in cancer prevention. Avoiding carbonated drinks and excessive alcohol, following a healthy diet, and getting daily physical activity are simple steps that can significantly reduce the risk of dangerous diseases.
