Support for former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny is growing in Ukraine. According to a new poll by the Rating group, he is trusted by 74% of citizens. For comparison, incumbent President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is trusted by 68%.
The poll shows that the level of distrust for Zaluzhny is 19%, while for Zelenskyy it is 30%. This demonstrates that the general maintains a high level of public support even outside of military service.
The conditional political force led by Zaluzhny would receive 23.7% of the vote in the parliamentary elections, while the ruling party would receive 19.7%. Also potentially entering the Verkhovna Rada would be:
-
"European Solidarity" – 7.4%,
-
hypothetical party of Kirill Budanov – 6.4%,
-
political force associated with "Azov" – 5.9%.
Thus, the survey confirms society's demand for new leaders and alternative centers of political power.
Analysts note that the results indicate that part of the electorate is tired of the current government. At the same time, discussions about Valery Zaluzhny's possible participation in the presidential campaign are increasingly appearing in the media.
These indicators can become a starting point for the formation of new political projects, as well as evidence of changing political sentiments in Ukrainian society.
