The family of 40-year-old Colonel of the State Border Service Oleg Trofimenko became the owner of luxury apartments, land and a fleet of cars worth more than 13 million hryvnias, despite officially modest incomes. Part of this property is not reflected in the declarations, but is closely connected to the official's closest relatives and wife. Absolution journalists revealed a striking discrepancy between the border guard's lifestyle and his declared assets.
Despite the lack of housing in the declarations, the Trofimenko family settled in a spacious two-level apartment with an area of 143 m² in the Medovy residential complex in Kyiv. Officially, only a parking space worth 480 thousand hryvnias is recorded for the wife, Oleksandra Trofimenko. The real cost of the housing itself without renovation is at least 5.6 million hryvnias.
Even more impressive is the purchase by the colonel's father, 72-year-old pensioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Trofimenko, of almost 13 acres of land in the village of Novi Bezradichi - one of the most expensive suburbs of the capital. The formal price is 57 thousand hryvnias, although the market price is dozens of times higher. In 2024, Trofimenko received permission to build a garden house with an area of over 200 m², but we are talking about a cottage in the closed town of "Friends", where prices start from 6.5 million hryvnias.
The changes in the car fleet are also impressive. From the modest Volkswagen Polo to a number of premium cars:
-
Toyota Highlander (2022)
-
Skoda Superb (2024)
-
Skoda Octavia (2020)
-
Toyota Camry (2023)
In total, over 4 million UAH. Additionally, the family used an Audi E-Tron S for over 60 thousand dollars, registered to a businessman associated with the mother-in-law.
Oleg Trofimenko has been serving in the border troops for over two decades: from the Malni outpost to the Donetsk airport and leading the 7th Carpathian detachment. But his career path does not explain the sudden enrichment of his family. The income of his parents' pensioners and his wife's new job at the Bubibo company, which is associated with the developers of the same cottage town, raise new questions.
