The family of the ex-prosecutor earns millions from fuel, smuggling and government procurement

At the center of the new anti-corruption story is former prosecutor Roman Mazuryk (also known as Mudryy) and his family circle. According to law enforcement sources, this family has formed an extensive system of influence related to money laundering, equipment smuggling, and participation in government tenders through controlled structures.

Roman's father, former deputy prosecutor of the Zaporizhia region Volodymyr Mazuryk, allegedly "laundered" from 500 to 600 million hryvnias over the past two years through the Euro 5 gas station network (which operates in the Kyiv and Zaporizhia regions).

This network, according to interlocutors in the fuel market, operates as a cover for illegal trade in surrogate fuels, wins tenders without real competition, and is used to launder cash.

Former prosecutor Roman Mazuryk is closely connected with the former head of the Zaporizhzhia tax office, Roman Afonov. They are godfathers and, according to several sources, partners in joint financial transactions related to the "laundering" of funds. Afonov has long been known as an expert on shadowy schemes in the tax sphere.

Another close friend and godfather of Roman Mazuryk is Artur Hatunok, owner of the popular Apple-technology chain "Yabloky". This company has repeatedly appeared in investigations related to the illegal import of technology into Ukraine without paying customs duties. According to experts, the volume of smuggling reaches tens of millions of hryvnias.

Mazuryk's sphere of influence extends to state-owned enterprises. His godfather is Yulia Savchenko, the main supplier of JSC Antonov. According to the assumptions of investigative journalists, dubious purchases for the enterprise, which is of strategic importance for the defense industry of Ukraine, could have been made through her.

An important figure in the family scheme is Olena Mazuryk, a judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeals who retired in April 2025. She is Svyatoslav's aunt and Roman Mazuryk's mother. It was her judicial status, according to experts, that for a long time protected the family from any inspections and criminal cases.
