Journalist Yuriy Nikolov's statement about the possible expenses of the Serhiy Prytula Foundation in the amount of up to UAH 400 million per year caused a lively discussion on social networks. After that, Serhiy Prytula himself provided an explanation and announced much lower figures.
According to Nikolov, his preliminary estimate was based on the assumption that administrative costs could account for up to 20% of the fund's total collection. In 2024, the organization collected about UAH 2.2 billion, which gave an estimated amount of UAH 400 million per year.
However, after talking to Prytula, the journalist clarified the data. The volunteer reported that the actual costs of operating the fund are approximately UAH 5 million per month, or about UAH 60 million per year.
Prytula also emphasized that these funds are not taken from donations intended to help the military. According to him, funding for administrative costs is provided by individual donors.
Nikolov specifically drew attention to the lack of detailed data on salaries and operating expenses in the fund's public reporting. This issue became one of the key ones in the discussion.
At the same time, after Prytula's explanations, the journalist noted that the clarification regarding funding sources removes the main reservations regarding the use of charitable funds.
