Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, exposed the head of one of the divisions of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Prydniprovsk District, which covers the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, in illegal enrichment.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, during a search of the official's residence, law enforcement officers discovered significant amounts of undeclared cash — $880,000 and over €200,000. The money was seized as evidence in criminal proceedings.
According to the publication "VYI", we are talking about Liliya Chigrykova, the head of one of the departments of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Dnieper District.
At this point, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 30 million hryvnias.
The investigation is investigating the possible involvement of other inspection officials in illicit enrichment and receiving bribes for "unnoticed" environmental violations.
The State Bureau of Investigation emphasizes that the fight against corruption among civil servants remains one of the key areas of the bureau's work, especially in areas where corruption abuses directly affect the environmental safety and economic stability of the state.
