The head of the State Financial Monitoring Service, Philip Pronin, appears in a number of criminal proceedings related to both the construction of fortifications in the Poltava region and the operations of companies that journalists and investigators link to the environment of businessman Timur Mindich.
According to the publication, when Philip Pronin headed the Poltava Regional State Administration, he oversaw projects for the construction of fortifications. Journalists claim that of the 372 million UAH allocated for these purposes, a significant part of the funds was used for other purposes, and the work was never completed. After being summoned to parliament for a report, Pronin, as Antikor , showed photos of fortifications taken in another region.
After personnel decisions in the central government, Pronin headed the State Financial Monitoring Service. According to media reports, already in his new position, he allegedly blocked the transfer to NABU of data on companies that anti-corruption organizations link to structures involved in "Mindichgate".
Antikor also reports that after the scandal surrounding the bail for ex-minister Chernyshov, information appeared in the media about a number of firms that law enforcement officials consider to be likely connected to Pronin's entourage. These companies posted multi-million bails for officials who appear in anti-corruption cases.
NABU Chairman Semen Kryvonos, as the publication notes, has repeatedly mentioned Pronin in the context of the “Mindich tapes.” As part of the investigations, searches are being conducted, financial transactions and documents are being analyzed.
Despite open proceedings and inspections, Philip Pronin continues to head the State Financial Monitoring Service and manage the structure that transmits financial information to anti-corruption authorities, including in cases where his name is mentioned in the media.
