On Tuesday, on the air of "24 Kanal", the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ivan Tymochko, explained that the total strength of the Defense Forces of Ukraine is 880 thousand people, including military educational institutions, recruitment centers, rear brigades, as well as units that guard the northern border with Belarus and Russia, where there are currently no active hostilities.
Tymochko noted that this figure does not include the National Guard and border guards, which together with the Defense Forces make up more than a million people. However, he emphasized that it is on the front line that another number of soldiers take part in hostilities.
Tymochko also said that there are about 600,000 Russian soldiers at the front, who are directly participating in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. He emphasized that this figure does not include Russian forces located outside Ukraine, for example, in logistics or cover systems, as well as in the Kursk region, where fighting is taking place. This is an important clarification that allows us to understand the real scale of military operations, because these forces are also important in the overall picture of the war.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted that the total strength of the Ukrainian army is 880,000 people, while Russia has concentrated 600,000 of its soldiers on certain areas of the front. Although the Russians maintain a numerical advantage in some areas, the strength of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the general front gives hope for stability in the fight.
These figures provide an important insight into the scope of the ongoing conflict and allow a better assessment of the potential and capabilities of each side in the armed conflict.
