On the evening of December 3, a fatal traffic accident involving a serviceman occurred near Chernivtsi. According to the Bukovina police, a 25-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region jumped out of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter while driving and was hit by an oncoming car. The man died instantly from his injuries.
According to the Chernivtsi Regional Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support, the accident is not related to the mobilization of local residents. The deceased was a soldier from one of the military units.
The car from which the soldier fell was driven by a 48-year-old resident of Bukovina. The man jumped out of the back door of the car onto the roadway, where he was hit by a Chevrolet Niva driven by a 27-year-old resident of Chernivtsi district. The body has been sent for forensic examination.
The police entered information about the road accident into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons driving vehicles). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
