The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on an accomplice of People's Deputy Hanna Skorokhod, suspected of extorting a bribe of $250,000 for "assistance" in lifting sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council.
This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on its Telegram channel. According to the investigation, the suspects allegedly guaranteed influence on officials who make sanction decisions.
The judge of the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals granted the request of the NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO, and chose to keep the suspect in custody. The alternative was a bail of 4 million 542 thousand hryvnias.
In the event of bail, the suspect must fulfill a number of obligations: to appear at every call of detectives, prosecutors or the court; not to leave the borders of Ternopil without the permission of the investigation; to report a change of residence or work; to refrain from communicating with persons specified in the decision; to surrender passports for travel abroad; to wear an electronic monitoring device.
As a reminder, on December 5, Hanna Skorokhod's apartment was searched as part of an investigation into a particularly large bribe. The MP herself stated that she considered these actions to be political pressure on the opposition.
Hanna Skorokhod was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019 from the 93rd district in the Kyiv region. Initially, she was a member of the Servant of the People faction, but in the same year she was expelled and joined the For the Future parliamentary group, where she repeatedly criticized the current government.
