Police officers have exposed a criminal group that illegally seized land near the Bukovel tourist complex. The press service of the National Police reported this.
These are plots with a total area of 4.29 hectares, the value of which exceeds UAH 14 million. According to the investigation, local government officials, state registrars, notaries and front persons were involved in the scheme.
The perpetrators used fake state acts of the 2001 model, creating the appearance of legal acquisition of land. In 2020–2023, they produced fictitious technical documentation, entered false information into the State Land Cadastre and the Register of Property Rights. One of the organizers acted as a “bona fide purchaser” and concluded three purchase and sale agreements with fictitious persons. At the same time, the real owners did not even know about the change of rights.
In fact, these areas have always been state-owned and are located on the territory of the Polyanytsky Forestry Department of the Vorokhta Forestry Department.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne regions, seizing documents, material media, and other evidence.
Three participants have been charged with fraud and forgery of documents. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing, law enforcement officers are documenting other facts of illegal appropriation of forest land. The Office of the Prosecutor General is responsible for the procedural management.
