The president admitted corruption mistakes in the country

The issue of fighting corruption is very sensitive in Ukraine. Corruption problems must be dealt with even in small matters. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in an interview with the British channel Channel 4 News.

"I think the issue of fighting corruption is very sensitive in Ukraine. Because when you are fighting for your European life, for your future, for your independence, you cannot create such small, you know, corruption problems. Therefore, everything is very sensitive. People's attitude to literally everything is very emotional," the head of state emphasized.

He believes that corruption problems must be fought, even in small matters.

To the question of whether there are currently corruption mistakes in Ukraine, the president answered: "Of course."

It will be recalled that in August 2023, Zelensky submitted to the parliament an initiative to equate responsibility for corruption with punishment for treason. In his opinion, this will be a very serious tool so that officials do not even think about illegal enrichment. On August 30, the draft law on equating corruption crimes with treason was posted on the parliament's portal.
