Journalist and TV presenter Yanina Sokolova spoke openly about her conflict with Olea Polyakova for the first time. She admitted that she was a guest on the show "Adult Girls" with Polyakova and Masha Efrosinina, but categorically forbade this episode from being broadcast.
The reason was Polyakova's resonant speech at the wedding, which caused a wave of indignation in society. " I was unpleasant that the conversation about Ukrainianness was perceived by the audience as my respect for coming on the air to such a person ," Sokolova emphasized.
This is about an event in 2023, when Polyakova was accused of speaking at the lavish wedding of former prosecutor Rostislav Ilnytsky and former SBI employee Roksolana Moskva. Ukrainians were outraged by the large-scale celebration during the war, which was called a "feast during the plague."
Polyakova herself explained at the time that she did not check where the customers were getting their money from, and considered her work a way to “take from the rich and give to the poor.” At the same time, she repeatedly supported volunteer initiatives — in particular, she donated an evacuation ambulance to the Avdiivka area and purchased 5,000 heating pads.
Thus, the irreconcilable positions of two public women once again brought to the fore the issue of the limits of artists' responsibility and the impact of their performances during wartime.
