The situation in Toretsk has significantly worsened for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recent days. According to information coming from the front, Russian troops have intensified their offensive operations, in particular in the eastern quarters of the city.
And today, Artem Dzhepko, a spokesman for the Lut assault brigade, said that Russian troops have already reached the Tsentralna mine. It is located in the center of Toretsk.
Judging by the map of the Ukrainian Telegram channel Deep State, Russian troops have indeed reached there.
At the same time, Z-publics claim that the mine management is already under the control of the Russian Federation. And that Ukrainian troops, under the threat of being cut off from the main forces, have withdrawn troops from the Zabalka microdistrict in the southern part of the city.
The "DPR" stated today that the Russian Federation controls all high-rise buildings in Toretsk, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are left with the northern and western outskirts with the waste dumps. Ukraine has not confirmed any of this.
The significance of the battles for Toretsk is the Russians' desire to push the front lines away from Horlivka, as well as to create conditions for an offensive from the southeast on Kostyantynivka. The Russian Federation is also making its way to this city from the northeast, from the Chasiv Yar direction.
