The school year in Ukraine began on September 1, during which schoolchildren will traditionally have four vacation periods. These are the fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks.
According to the tentative schedule, winter vacation in the 2025–2026 academic year will last from December 27, 2025 to January 11, 2026. At the same time, in some educational institutions, the vacation may be extended until January 18 - this decision is made at the level of a specific school.
The final vacation calendar is approved by the pedagogical council of each educational institution. It also determines the length of the academic year and the form of organization of the educational process - full-time, blended, or distance.
The dates and duration of the holidays may also be affected by the security situation in the region and epidemiological conditions. In schools with a full-time format of education, temporary suspension of classes or transfer of individual classes to quarantine are possible, which may adjust the planned schedule of students' rest.
According to the preliminary calendar, autumn holidays are scheduled for the period from October 27 to November 2, 2025. Spring holidays will approximately take place from March 23 to 29, 2026. Summer holidays for schoolchildren will traditionally begin on June 1 and will last until the start of the new school year.
Parents and students are advised to check the specific vacation dates directly with their educational institutions, as they may vary depending on the decision of the school administration and external circumstances.
