In Chernihiv there was a deadly road accident with the participation of a motorcycle and a pedestrian. The incident happened on March 21 at about 6 pm on Ivan Mazepa Street. As a result, a 28-year-old resident was seriously injured and died in hospital.
According to the police of the Chernihiv region, 23-year-old Chernihiv was at the wheel of the unregistered motorcycle "Honda". He was moving from the intersection with Dovzhenko Street towards the city center when he knocked down a pedestrian that crossed the road in an unauthorized place.
The victim suffered critical injuries and was hospitalized, but the doctors failed to save his life. The motorcyclist himself was injured, but did not need hospitalization.
Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violation of traffic safety rules, which led to the death of the victim.
The pre -trial investigation is currently underway, and law enforcement officers establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
