The meeting between US Presidents Donald Trump and Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, which was recently held, has become the subject of scandal. According to Professor of International Policy at Thomas Eger, the University of Cologne, this incident was struck in order to humiliate the President of Ukraine in public.
In a comment to Bild, Thomas Eger explained that everything was specifically organized by Donald Trump and his vice -resident Jay Di Vance. They used this meeting to be illustrated by Zelensky. The professor believes that one of the main goals of this situation was to show public humiliation of the President of Ukraine through a direct broadcast to the whole world. "At first they teased it and then bitten," the Eger emphasized.
The analyst noted that Trump tries to show the Americans that Ukraine is not grateful for help and thus does not deserve further support from the United States. Trump's supporters have already supported this position, but the rest of the Americans are not ready for this turn, Professor Eger says.
The hunter also noted that Trump's policy on Ukraine is part of a larger strategy that includes rapprochement with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He stressed that Trump considers Putin as his friend, but in fact the Russian leader only uses it to achieve his goals.
