Recruiting prisoners who have expressed a desire to serve has become a separate direction for the Third Assault Brigade (3rd ZShBr), Deputy Brigade Commander Maksym Zhorin said.
"It was the right decision to finally give them such an opportunity," he believes.
In addition, Zhorin noted that after the Law on Mobilization came into force, more volunteers began to come to the brigade as part of the recruiting campaign.
"Now the percentage that we close at the expense of the mobilized has become smaller. But among the mobilized there is still a large number of adequate, promising fighters and representatives of professions important for the army. We try to appoint people to positions according to their skills and knowledge," Zhorin said.
He added that many want to be stormtroopers, but this role is not suitable for many: "That's why we are looking for other positions for them."
