The Trypil thermal power plant in the Kyiv region was completely destroyed as a result of a Russian attack on Thursday, April 11, the head of the supervisory board of Centerenergo, Andriy Hota, said.
According to him, the employees of the station remained unharmed.
As a result of the attack, a large fire broke out in the turbine shop at the thermal power plant. At the moment, work on extinguishing the fire is ongoing at the scene, Gota added. PJSC Centerenergo lost 100% of its generation capacity after the destruction of Zmiyivskaya TPP in Kharkiv region and Vugleghirskaya TPP in Donetsk region.
Earlier, the mayor of the city of Ukrainka, Oleksandr Turenko, where the TPP is located, called on local residents to stock up on water and charge all electronic devices.
The Kyiv regional administration reported damage to an energy facility and a fire.
Trypilskaya TPP is the most powerful power plant in the Kyiv region and the largest supplier of electricity for the Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions. The enterprise covers an area of 281.3 hectares and is located in the town of Ukrainka, Obukhiv District, on the banks of the Kaniv Reservoir.
