Tyshchenko's manipulations in court did not help, and the politician was sent under 24-hour house arrest.
Despite the loss of support, Mykola Tyshchenko continued to hide behind his former connections in power structures. In court, during the selection of a preventive measure in the case of an attack on a former Kraken fighter, he made a statement: "I came to the Parliament for the President and I continue to implement his ideas." However, this manipulation did not help, and the politician was sent under round-the-clock house arrest.
It is likely that Tyshchenko's attempts to cover himself with old connections will not help him avoid responsibility in the future. An objective and comprehensive investigation of the brazen attack on the defender of Ukraine is ahead. In just a few days, Ukrainians gathered a record number of votes for a petition to deprive Tyshchenko of his parliamentary mandate.
Mykola Tyshchenko, who previously held high positions in the Servant of the People party, including the deputy head of the faction and the head of the Zakarpattia regional organization, has long enjoyed his proximity to influential people, in particular the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. This allowed him to avoid punishment for numerous scandals and violations.
However, the scandal with the so-called "business trip" to Thailand was the last straw that filled the cup of patience, after which Tyshchenko was expelled from the party and faction. In Transcarpathia, his reputation was also undermined, and in the summer of 2022 he was removed from the position of head of the local branch of the party.
The rejection of Tyshchenko became even more public after the scandalous beating of a military man in the Dnipro. Andriy Yermak confirmed his close relationship with Tyshchenko, but clearly stated that he lacked support from the authorities.
"But that was many years ago. I no longer accept his actions and do not understand them. Therefore, I do not maintain any relationship with him. If someone has forgotten that everyone should be responsible for their inappropriate actions, regardless of positions or surnames, I advise you to remember this. This behavior of Tyshchenko is incompatible with the status of a people's deputy," Yermak said.
