In 2025, the war may end - Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed optimism about the possibility of ending the war in 2025. In his interview, he emphasized a number of key aspects that may affect the further development of events.

The main theses of Zelenskyi's statement

  1. Risks for NATO and the influence of Ukraine
The president noted that Vladimir Putin's ambitions could threaten NATO member countries. However, the possibility of further Russian aggression directly depends on the outcome of the war in Ukraine:

    • Ukraine's victory will stop Putin.
    • An unjust peace imposed on Ukraine will increase the risks of an attack on NATO.

"Many things will be decided this year," Zelensky emphasized.

  2. Shortage of long-range weapons

The president admitted that the provision of long-range weapons significantly helps Ukraine, but the decision to provide them was made late, and the number of deliveries is still insufficient.

  3. The future of Ukraine in NATO
Zelenskyi emphasized that real independence of Ukraine is possible only if it joins NATO. In his statement, he suggested:

    • Invitation to NATO in the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine.
    • Temporary "taking under the umbrella of NATO" those territories that are under the control of Ukraine, to end the hot phase of the war. Other territories can be returned by diplomatic methods.
