On the morning of May 6, an explosion occurred in the premises of one of the banks in the center of Chernihiv. As a result of the incident, the building caught fire and was seriously damaged. No one was hurt.
The police of the Chernihiv region received a report about an explosion and a fire in a bank. The incident happened around 4 am. According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred due to an improvised explosive device. The bank building was severely damaged, but luckily no casualties were reported.
Rescue workers, police and explosives specialists are working at the scene. Law enforcement agencies are now investigating the circumstances of the identification of persons who may be related to this incident. According to the information, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding intentional destruction or damage to property by means of an explosion.
