The State Bureau of Investigation reported a large -scale evasion of mobilization in Dnipropetrovsk region. One of the heads of the Regional Military Medical Commission (VLK) and the former nurse of a local hospital are involved in criminal activity. According to the investigation, they forged medical documents, which allowed men of conscript age to avoid service in the Armed Forces.
The scheme was organized by the Esmed worker. She, together with the VLK official, was looking for those who wanted to "unite" from the army and sell them fake certificates of chronic illness or other diagnoses. The cost of "services" ranged from $ 5 to $ 20 thousand - depending on the urgency and financial capabilities of the conscript.
According to preliminary estimates, at least 60 people have avoided fake mobilization documents. Some of them tried to "remove" directly from the territorial centers of acquisition, when they had already to go to the training units - in such cases the schemes also included the transfer of bribes to the employees of the Tax Code.
During the searches, about $ 70,000 in cash, dozens of falsified medical reports, documents of conscripts and even seals of doctors were seized from the suspects.
The former nurses were suspected under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: obstruction of the Armed Forces, aid in receiving undue benefits, as well as providing a bribe to an employee. The VLK official is charged with receiving and providing undue benefits.
The issue of pre -trial detention is currently being resolved. The investigation is ongoing - law enforcement officers establish other possible participants in the corruption scheme.
