The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported the detention of two suspects in the blast of the courier with explosives near the Tax Code in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The crime occurred on February 5, 2024, and as a result of the explosion, the courier was killed, and 8 employees of the territorial staffing center (TCC) were injured.
The suspects were a local drug addict and 17-year-old city college student who were looking for easy earnings through the popular Telegram messenger. According to the SBU, the student made an explosive, which was to be attributed to the Shopping Center. However, realizing that he himself could be a victim of an explosion, the suspect decided to attract a courier to deliver explosives.
The courier, who agreed to such a dangerous cause, died from the explosion. While eight employees of the shopping center were injured. SBU staff detained the suspects the next day after the tragedy. However, information about their detention has been published only now.
