Yesterday, July 14 in the Ternovsky district of Kryvyi Rih there was a shooting, which was injured by three people. The incident occurred during the verification of documents from a local resident by law enforcement officers and representatives of the territorial assembly center (TCC).
According to the official version of the police, a 51-year-old man was stopped during the so-called “district development”. Instead of presenting documents, he began to resist - he applied a gas can and screwdriver against the employees, injuring the police officer and a representative of the Tax Code. In response, one of the militiamen opened fire.
According to the local media, at least four shots were fired at the site. Eyewitnesses say that after the incident, the wounded civilian lay on the ground, and a police officer with a weapon stood above him. The police confirmed that three people were hospitalized as a result of the event - the man himself, the law enforcement officer and the Labor Code. The condition of the victims has not yet been disclosed.
It is known in advance that the detainee is a conscript and was wanted. This could provoke his attempt to escape and resist. Criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violence against a law enforcement officer).
The State Bureau of Investigation and the Police are currently being investigated. Details on the validity of the actions of law enforcement, as well as the legality of the use of firearms, are still clarified.
