The KSCA is urging residents of the capital not to leave pets in closed vehicles in the heat. Such neglect of safety rules can cost an animal life, and the owner - a fine or even imprisonment.
About it reported V.O. Director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change Sergei Saburov. According to him, in the summer, the temperature in the car salon increases extremely quickly, even if it is parked in the shade. This creates critical conditions for an animal that cannot fully regulate the body in such conditions.
“In a suffocating space, the animal quickly overheats, dehydrates, and this can lead to its death. We are urging not to leave the animals in the cars, ”Saburov said.
The department emphasized that leaving the animal is punished in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses - a fine of 3 400 to 5 950 UAH with the possibility of confiscation. If the actions of the owner have led to the death or injury of the animal, criminal liability is provided - up to 3 years of restriction or imprisonment.
To facilitate the conditions in the heat in the metropolitan parks and squares traditionally install portable drinking bowls. They will function by the end of October, and experts of district utilities are responsible for cleanliness and filling.
