Oleg Vinnyk, who previously vowed never to sing in Russian again, is back in the spotlight. The singer posted a video of himself performing his hit "Nino" in Russian, despite calling singing in that language "self-deprecating" in 2023 and promising to give it up.
Vynnyk accompanied the video with a romantic address to his wife Taisia Svatko (Tayune), who was filming the video. He emphasized that he feels warmth and happiness next to her.
However, the network immediately recalled his previous statements and criticized his singing in Russian. Users wrote: "And translate it poorly into Ukrainian?", "It's very painful to look at your favorite artist and understand that he continues to sing in the language of the aggressor." Others accused the singer of inconsistency and noted that he himself refused to use Russian in public interviews.
Vynnyk's fans also did not stand aside. Some defended him, calling on the "wolf girls" to support their idol, but users noticed that negative comments under the video were quickly deleted.
Vinnyk's new performance once again divided the audience: some fans were disappointed, while others continued to support the artist despite the controversy.
