A terrible tragedy took place in the village of Monachynivka, Kupyan District, Kharkiv Oblast, due to the attack of Russian troops with one of the most powerful FAB-1500 bombs, Serhiy Bolvinov, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Police Investigative Department, reported in his Facebook post.
"The explosion caused an impression similar to an earthquake and destroyed the entire street. Residents of the village witnessed a terrible blow - a high-explosive aerial bomb weighing more than one and a half tons was dropped on their homes and streets by the enemy," the message reads.
Bolvinov emphasized that there were not many residents left in the village, and there was not a single soldier. The Russian military used a "special module to ensure the bomb's glide in the air after it was released from the plane."
“This weapon of incredible power was first used against us. Its consequences were devastating, the houses of the villagers were destroyed and an 88-year-old woman was killed. Her body was pulled out from under the rubble after the explosion," the head of the Investigative Department emphasized.
Despite the terrible attack, the residents of Monachynivka immediately sought the help of the police. Russian troops struck the FAB-1500 bomb with the UMPK module on Easter Day, May 5, around 3:20 p.m. As a result of the shelling, 16 houses were damaged, and the body of an 88-year-old woman was pulled from the rubble, and a 34-year-old man was also injured.
