Experts note the growing demand for agricultural products from Ukraine in the world, despite logistical difficulties. The analysis shows that the European Union mainly does not grow sunflower, so Ukraine remains a key supplier of sunflower oil to the EU market. For the 2023-2024 marketing year, the EU has already purchased 1 million tons of sunflower oil from Ukraine, which exceeds last year's figures by 13%.
African countries are also identified as significant importers of Ukrainian agricultural products, where Ukraine exports sunflower seeds, sunflower oil and soybean meal. In addition, due to the blockade of ports by the Russian occupiers, the share of the European Union in the structure of Ukrainian agricultural exports increased from 32% in 2021 to 59% in ten months of 2023.
It is noted that in 2024, the further development of the agricultural and other sectors of Ukraine's economy will be determined by the circumstances on the battlefield. In addition, 67% of Ukrainian farmers express a positive attitude towards European integration, and attempts by Ukraine and Poland to reach an agreement on unblocking the border remain unsuccessful.
