In Zaporozhye, law enforcement officers reported suspicion to three officials of the authorities and local self -government, as well as the head of the commercial structure. They all became involved in criminal proceedings due to systematic abuse of office and distortion of budgetary funds. The total amount of losses exceeds UAH 3.7 million.
The investigation found that in June 2023 the director of one of the departments of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration concluded an agreement for the purchase of building materials at significantly inflated prices. The purchase was carried out in the framework of the emergency prevention program, but the overpayment amounted to over UAH 1 million.
Another case applies to the Official of Zaporizhzhya City Council, who in November 2022 concluded a series of unprofitable wood supply agreements. According to the investigation, the procurement was carried out at the expense of state subsidies allocated to support the territories affected by the fighting. Budget losses due to this scheme reached over UAH 1 million.
The third episode happened in January 2025. The head of the other department of the City Council sold the object of communal property at low cost, which caused the community of losses of over 935 thousand hryvnias.
The persons involved in the case were declared suspicion, and they were served requests for the election of a pre -trial detention. Despite the obvious scale of corruption schemes, the attention of the head of Zaporizhzhya Ova Ivan Fedorov - the person involved in numerous media investigations into the waste of video equipment, the construction of hospitals and shelters - still remains at the level of rhetoric.
