In Zaporizhzhya, the court found the guilty of two patrolmen, who in 2020 during the service staged real abuse of a local resident. This was reported in the press service of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, law enforcement officers unreasonably stopped the man just outside. They made him completely undress, while accompanying "checking" with humiliations, threats and beating. The incident happened in broad daylight, in the eyes of passers -by, and lasted about 40 minutes.
The prosecutor's office proved that the actions of the patrolmen were violent, clearly humiliated human dignity and went beyond their official powers. Both were found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - excess power with the use of violence.
The court appointed police officers for 3 years in prison and prohibited to work in law enforcement bodies for one year.
Investigators were investigating the State Bureau of Investigation from Melitopol.
