In Zhytomyr, the landfill is burning: students were transferred to distance learning

In Zhytomyr a fire broke out at the city landfill. Due to the smoke and risks to the health of the residents, the local authorities promptly decided to transfer schools to distance learning. This was reported by the Zhytomyr City Council.

Despite the emergency, kindergartens continue to work, but walks on the street are canceled.

Experts have already selected air samples for further analysis. The pollution level is expected, after which further security measures will be taken.

The city authorities urge residents to stay at home, avoid outdoors and follow official reports.

Firefighters are working to eliminate the fire. The causes of ignition are still unknown.
