Ukraine asks EU and Britain for additional assistance: situation on the frontline is close to the limit

According to sources in the President's Office, Andriy Yermak held a series of informal consultations with representatives of the European Union and Great Britain, during which he raised the issue of urgently increasing military assistance to Ukraine.

According to the interlocutors, the situation on the front remains critical: Ukrainian troops are exhausted, and equipment reserves are lacking. According to Bankova's military advisers, the pace of arms supplies from allies no longer matches the intensity of hostilities, especially after a sharp increase in drone and artillery attacks by the Russian Federation.

They understand at Bankova that the army’s resources are almost exhausted. Therefore, Yermak has actually given his partners an ultimatum — if the West does not make a decision to transfer frozen Russian reserves, it will be impossible to maintain the front at the current level ,” says one of the sources familiar with the details of the negotiations.

The OP believes that the issue of transferring frozen assets to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation should be “not a political, but a strategic decision” that will determine Ukraine's ability to continue its defense in the winter of 2025–2026.

According to the interlocutors, Ukraine insists on accelerating the unblocking of financial mechanisms within the EU, and also asks London to expand participation in joint defense initiatives.

Officially, Bankova has not yet commented on the details of these negotiations. At the same time, diplomatic circles confirm that the issue of transferring Russian assets to Ukraine has once again been put on the agenda of the upcoming meetings in Brussels.
