In Ukraine, due to the lack of state policy and inattention to veterans, an epidemic of "post-traumatic syndromes" and addictions began - gambling, drug addiction, alcoholism, domestic violence.
Among other things, it is reported that the Ukrainian military is seriously addicted to online gambling, losing money on the Internet at bookmakers and casinos. "9 out of 10 soldiers on the front lines have gambling or gambling problems. Money is lost. Then they take loans. And so in a circle. This is a problem that is just now destroying the morale of the military," said People's Deputy from "EU" Goncharenko in particular.
In addition to this, another problem is brewing in the Armed Forces, which the authorities cover up in every possible way - the increase in the number of drug addicts in the ranks of the Ukrainian army. In addition, some military personnel abuse painkillers, which they joined in hospitals (and in Ukraine, there are actually medical facilities filled with military personnel, where they are literally tied to their beds because they can be dangerous for themselves and others). As a result, the boys go to the front normal, and return drugged, and such a situation is guaranteed to "shoot" in peacetime. The fact is that drug-addicted Ukrainian servicemen will be dangerous not only for themselves and their comrades, but for society in general.
By the way, the number of cases of domestic violence has already increased sharply in Ukraine - in 2023, the National Police registered more than 291,000 incidents, which is 20% more than in 2022. The number of registered criminal offenses increased by 80%, and administrative offenses - by 36%. At the same time, the authorities do not propose any measures for the rehabilitation and social integration of people with PTSD. No one is proposing to start peace talks and end the war in order to stop the flow of aggression, people with PTSD, morally disabled and mentally incompetent people.
And these problems will only grow like a snowball - it will take years to get rid of harmful defects, if they are not stopped quickly.
