As of January 5, 2023/2024 marketing year, Ukraine exported grain and leguminous crops in the amount of 18 million 999 thousand tons, which turned out to be less by 4 million 433 thousand tons or 1.2 times compared to the previous year.
The information was provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine with updated statistics as of January 5 of this year. Preliminary data, which were released at the beginning of January, indicated the volume of exports of grain and leguminous crops in the amount of 18 million 393 thousand tons at the beginning of the 2023/2024 marketing year.
It is noted that the export of Ukrainian wheat amounted to 7 million 781 thousand tons as of January 5, which is less by 760 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
Ukrainian farmers also exported 1 million 106 thousand tons of barley and 1 thousand tons of rye. Corn exports decreased to 9 million 968 thousand tons, decreasing by 3 million 186 thousand tons or 1.31 times compared to the previous year.
It was also noted that the export of flour amounted to 59.8 thousand tons (79.7 thousand tons in terms of grain), which is less by 10.7 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
