On January 9, the pre-premiere screening of the ironic detective film "La Palisade" directed by Philip Sotnichenko, which tells the story of the Ukrainian 90s, took place. According to the information published on the official Facebook page of the State Cinema of Ukraine, the film will have its all-Ukrainian premiere on January 11, 2024.
The plot of the film unfolds in 1996, five months before the abolition of the death penalty. Two main characters - a police detective and a forensic psychiatrist - investigate the murder of their colleague. Although the case was quickly closed, they were left with many unanswered questions.
One of the main questions around which the plot revolves is what "La Palisade" means in the expert opinion of the investigator.
The film promises answers to these pressing questions of a Ukrainian detective who promises to shake up Europe. It was created with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine, as well as the film companies "VIATEL" and "Modern Ukrainian Cinema".
