Ukraine continues its digitalization drive, aiming to eliminate corruption through transparent digital solutions. Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Mykhailo Fedorov announced the launch of four large-scale projects aimed at eliminating the human factor in important administrative processes.
What will the new projects change?
- Car customs clearance in "Diya"
One of the most anticipated innovations. The digitalization of this process will allow to remove the corruption component at customs. Instead of communicating with officials, citizens will be able to clear a vehicle through customs via a mobile application.“This will show how customs can work without the participation of an official,” Fedorov noted.
- “eExcise”
This project will help track every unit of tobacco and alcohol on sale. A function to check the legality of products will be available in “Diya”. It is expected that the launch of the system will significantly reduce losses to the state budget from the shadow market of alcohol and tobacco. - Electronic notary
Fedorov said that the Ministry of Digital Affairs is working on creating a unified electronic system for notaries. The first pilot project will include the possibility of receiving notary services via video call in "Diya". - New construction services
The Urban Development Cadastre was recently launched, an electronic system that contains information about all construction projects. This eliminates corruption in the preparation of construction documents. In the future, it is planned to introduce even more digital services in construction.
Fedorov emphasized that digitalization has already saved the state billions of hryvnias. He noted that the Ministry of Digital Affairs team is constantly analyzing how new technologies can be used to eliminate corruption risks in various areas.
“We are working on large-scale tracks that will make public services transparent and corruption impossible,” the minister concluded.
