Ukraine is preparing to sign the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Goods (ACAA), sometimes called "industrial visa waiver", with the European Union. This agreement provides for mutual recognition of certificates issued by both parties, which means that Ukrainian exporters will no longer have to spend time and money on re-certification of products for sale in Europe.
At the initial stage, the "industrial visa-free" will operate for three key sectors: mechanical engineering, low-voltage equipment and electromagnetic compatibility. In the future, its effect can be expanded to 27 sectors of industry in total. According to experts, the conclusion of the ACCA Agreement will help reduce export costs by 4.9% and import costs by 2.3%.
Deputy Minister of Economy Vitaliy Kindrativ spoke about the prospects of signing the ACCA Agreement and the tasks that need to be completed for this. According to him, the conclusion of the ACCA Agreement provides for Ukrainian exporters to obtain equal conditions on the European market by reducing technical barriers for industrial goods through mutual recognition of regulatory equivalence and mechanisms of economic integration.
The conclusion of the ACCA Agreement will contribute to the simplification of trade, the restoration of the economy and the increase of the competitiveness of Ukrainian industrial products both on the domestic and foreign markets.
