Romanian President Klaus Iohannis criticizes allies for insufficient support for Ukraine at the NATO summit.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis made an important statement during the NATO summit in Washington, in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with the insufficient support of Ukraine from the Western allies.
According to the politician, quoted by The Guardian, Ukraine still has not received all the promised help from the West, which is necessary to resist Russian aggression and ensure its security in the conditions of a military conflict.
"As for the aid that we all give, I think it's time to be realistic: we have given about half of what we promised," Johannis told reporters.
He added that this is clearly not enough, and that "if we want Ukraine to win, we should help more."
It will be recalled that during the opening of the NATO summit, US President Joe Biden announced the transfer of additional air defense systems, in particular Patriot, to Ukraine. President Zelensky thanked the US for the new Patriot systems, but said that they were not enough.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in turn, said that F-16 fighters from Denmark and the Netherlands "are on their way right now" to Ukraine.
