The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law on the creation of defense companies in Ukraine to ensure the employment of military personnel after demobilization.
According to the text of draft law No. 11214, an international defense company is defined as a Ukrainian company that provides defense services abroad and participates in the protection of the territory.
The activities of such companies and their personnel will be limited to the territory of the regions adjacent to the Russian border. Only residents of Ukraine can be founders.
To control their activities, it is proposed to create the State Service of International Defense Companies, which will be accountable to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense.
Explanatory notes to the draft law indicate that it is aimed at rehabilitating demobilized military personnel and meeting the needs of rapid response groups for the protection of the territory. The authors of the law refer to the positive experience of the United States and other countries to increase control over armed citizens and create new jobs.
